The Islamic Institute of Minnesota provides marriage ceremony services for Muslim couples through three volunteers who are certified by the State of Minnesota to conduct marriage services. Couples must obtain a marriage license from the county where they reside before the ceremony, and advanced notice is required. Ceremonies can be held at different locations, with the institute preferably conducting them at one of its mosques. AsSalam Mosque in Maplewood offers an event space for small wedding gatherings, while the Burnsville Mosque has the larger Crystal Events room. No service fee is required, although donations to the mosque are appreciated. The Islamic Institute of Minnesota has served the local Muslim community since 2008 and also provides funeral arrangements, Zakat distribution, counseling, Islamic education, community programs, and daily prayers.
