Al-Huda Masjid, operated by the Islamic Society of Maine, provides Nikah services for Muslim couples seeking to complete their Islamic marriage according to Shariah. The mosque’s Imam performs the Islamic marriage ceremony and guides couples through the required religious process. Pre-marital counseling is also available, and couples receive a marriage certificate following the ceremony. Nikah ceremonies can be held at the mosque or at another suitable location, with flexible scheduling available. The service is part of Al-Huda Masjid’s wider community offerings, including Islamic education, Quran and Hifz classes, Arabic courses, Zakat and Sadaqah assistance, New Muslim support, funeral services, counseling, youth programs, and weekend Islamic school. The Islamic Society of Maine was founded in 1998 and serves the Muslim community in Portland and surrounding areas.
