Nikah Services at the Islamic Society of Germantown (ISG) provide Islamic marriage ceremonies for Muslim couples. Couples must present a Circuit Court marriage certificate showing both names along with valid identification. The bride must have her Wali present, such as her Muslim father, brother, or uncle, or appoint someone to act as her Wali when necessary. The ceremony requires two adult Muslim male witnesses and allows a maximum of 20 guests. ISG suggests a $200 donation for the Nikah. The service also follows Islamic event guidelines, including modest Islamic dress for sisters and no music.
