Eastern Twin Cities Islamic Center (ETCIC) provides Nikah services for Muslims according to Islamic marriage principles and Minnesota state law. Couples must complete a Nikah Service Request form and meet with an Imam before the ceremony. The Imam verifies the bride’s Wali approval and confirms that the Islamic and legal requirements are satisfied. These include an agreed Mahr, the presence of two Muslim male witnesses, and the required offer and acceptance. Couples must also obtain a valid marriage license from their local county courthouse. ETCIC conducts Nikah ceremonies only at the masjid, with requests submitted at least three weeks before the proposed date, and provides couples with a Certificate of Islamic Marriage. The center is located in Afton, Minnesota, and also offers Quran programs, weekend and summer schools, financial assistance, community outreach, and social activities.
