The Muslim American Community RVA (Masjid Bilal) in Richmond, Virginia, provides Islamic marriage (Nikah) ceremonies by appointment with the Imam. Couples are encouraged to attend two marriage consultations before the ceremony and must complete the masjid's Nikah Services and Facilities Request Form at least one week before the scheduled date. A valid legal marriage license is required. The bride's Wali (guardian) must approve and attend the ceremony, along with at least two witnesses. Both parties must agree on the Mahr (marital gift), and previously married individuals must inform the Imam and provide relevant documentation. Nikah ceremonies are usually held after congregational Salah. The masjid also offers reception facilities, with optional kitchen and audio-visual arrangements.
