Nikah Services at Abu Huraira Center in North York, Ontario provide couples with the opportunity to solemnize their marriage in a dignified Islamic ceremony officiated by one of the masjid’s imams.
To book a Nikah, couples can reserve available slots online, and must obtain a civil marriage licence from their local City Hall and bring it to the Imam a few days before the ceremony along with two pieces of ID. During the Nikah, the bride’s wali (guardian) and two Muslim witnesses must be present to sign the documentation, and the mahr (bridal gift) should be agreed upon beforehand; guests are also asked to observe proper mosque etiquette.
