Maine Muslim Community Center provides Marriage Services for Muslim couples in the Portland, Maine area. The center’s Imam officiates Nikah (Islamic marriage contracts) according to Shariah principles and provides counseling as needed. Marriage ceremonies are part of the center’s wider religious and community services, which include five daily prayers, Friday Khutbahs in Arabic, English, and Somali, weekend Quran classes, Tafseer, Islamic studies for youth, counseling and conflict resolution, funeral services, and social services. Maine Muslim Community Center is a nonprofit organization established in 2005 to serve the religious and social needs of Maine’s Muslim community while promoting understanding and positive relationships with the wider community.
