Marriage (Nikah) Services at Idris Mosque provide Islamic marriage ceremonies for Muslim couples who meet the mosque’s requirements. Couples must obtain a Washington State county marriage license, provide written approval from the appropriate father or Muslim guardian, agree on the Mahr, and have two Muslim male witnesses present. The bride’s Wali or Wakeel must also be present, and both spouses are expected to commit to practicing the obligations of Islam. An appointment with the mosque’s officiant must be completed at least one week before the marriage date, and a reasonable donation or fee is requested. Nikah ceremonies and receptions at the mosque must follow the center’s Islamic guidelines.
