Ethiopian Muslims Association of Seattle (EMAS) provides Nikah and marriage services to help Muslim couples complete their marriage according to Islamic traditions and requirements. The services include Nikah ceremonies, premarital counseling, documentation assistance, witness arrangements, and guidance throughout the marriage process. Couples must be practicing Muslims and provide valid identification, proof of legal marital status when applicable, consent from both the bride and groom, and the bride’s guardian. The service generally requires two male witnesses, and EMAS’s Imam and Religious Affairs Director are available to guide couples through the process and answer questions about Islamic marriage.
