The Marriage and Divorce services at the Islamic Centre of Southwest Ontario provide comprehensive support for couples throughout both the beginning and potential end of a marriage, ensuring all processes align with Islamic principles and legal requirements. The centre’s Imam, licensed by the Province of Ontario for over 40 years, officiates Nikah ceremonies and guides couples through a clear process that includes obtaining a marriage license, completing the ceremony, and registering the marriage officially with the province. Pre-marriage counselling is also available to help couples prepare for married life. In cases where a marriage cannot be reconciled, the Imam assists couples through the proper Islamic procedures for divorce while advising them to complete the legal civil divorce separately.
The centre also issues official religious certificates for both marriage and divorce, ensuring a structured, respectful, and Shariah-compliant approach at every stage.
