Dar Al Qalam Center provides Islamic marriage services for Muslim couples seeking to complete their Nikah according to Islamic requirements. For a marriage to be valid in Islam, the center identifies four essential conditions: mutual consent of the bride and groom, a Wali for the bride, two adult witnesses, and an agreed Mahr (marriage gift) for the bride. Couples must also provide a valid State of Minnesota marriage license before the Sheikh can perform the Nikah. Dar Al Qalam Center was established in 2012 as a religious and educational hub serving the Minneapolis Muslim community. Its wider programs include daily prayers, Islamic education, a large Dugsi program, youth activities, women's classes, counseling, family consultation, and community services.
