Nikkah Services at McLean Islamic Center (MIC) provide Islamic marriage ceremonies for Muslim couples who meet the required Islamic conditions for marriage. Couples must obtain a Virginia marriage license, provide proof of identity, and submit their request at least two weeks before the ceremony. The Nikkah can be held at MIC or an off-site location, with two Muslim male witnesses and the bride’s Wakeel/guardian required to be present. At least the groom must meet with the person performing the ceremony beforehand. MIC does not charge a specific officiation fee but encourages donations to support its community services.
