North Hudson Islamic Educational Center (NHIEC) provides Nikah services for Muslim couples seeking to complete their Islamic marriage. The Nikah is performed by Imam Mohammad Moussa, and couples must obtain a marriage license from their local town clerk before the ceremony. The Islamic requirements include mutual agreement between the bride and groom, two adult male witnesses, Mahr (dowry), a bride’s Wali, a written marriage contract signed by the couple and witnesses, and a marriage Khutbah. Nikah ceremonies are available by appointment, and couples receive a Nikah certificate after the ceremony. NHIEC also offers social services, free professional counseling, Dawah, prayer facilities, and educational programs including Quran teaching, youth activities, and Islamic studies.
