Masjid As-Salaam provides marriage-related guidance and support as part of its Islamic and community services. The masjid’s marriage program involves its staff and Imam in helping couples complete the Nikah process and prepare for a successful marriage. Couples are encouraged to meet with the Imam and staff as part of the marriage process, providing an opportunity for religious guidance and discussion before the marriage contract is completed. Masjid As-Salaam was established in the early 1980s as the first masjid in Jersey City’s Journal Square area and was formally incorporated as a nonprofit religious organization in 1997. It serves the Muslim community through religious, social, cultural, educational, and charitable activities.
