The Community Mosque of Winston-Salem operates the Al-Maun Food Bank, which supports households experiencing food insecurity by distributing fresh groceries. The food bank provides an average of 70–150 food boxes on the third Saturday of each month, with distribution taking place from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM or while supplies last at the mosque on Waughtown Street. The program aims to reduce the burden of food costs on families facing financial hardship and provide practical community support. Volunteers can also assist with food bank activities. The Community Mosque of Winston-Salem was established in 1984 and has a long history of community outreach, including food and clothing distribution, Islamic education, social services, and support for incarcerated Muslims.
