Evergreen Islamic Center (EIC) in San Jose, California, operates a Food Distribution program to help underprivileged families access essential groceries. The program distributes dry, non-perishable food items on the first Saturday of each month from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with one distribution provided per qualifying family at each event. Families may be asked to present an original California photo ID or driver’s license showing their current address, and no more than two families are permitted per vehicle. This initiative reflects EIC’s commitment to supporting families experiencing food insecurity and serving the practical needs of the local community. In addition to food assistance, EIC offers daily prayers, Jumu’ah, Quran education, weekend Islamic school, youth programs, a free medical clinic, and financial assistance for eligible individuals and families. Through its charitable, educational, and religious programs, EIC supports Muslim families and the wider San Jose community.
