Zakat Services at the Islamic Center of Tucson (ICT) collect and distribute Zakat to help Muslim individuals and families in the local Tucson community with urgent financial needs. The assistance can cover past-due rent and utility bills, urgent medical prescriptions, food and clothing, and local travel expenses. Applicants can receive Zakat once every six months and must provide supporting documentation, such as identification, bills, proof of employment, a W-2 form, or a recent bank statement, depending on their situation. ICT reports distributing an average of more than $30,000 in Zakat to local Muslim families and aims to provide additional assistance through community donations.
