Danforth Islamic Centre offers Wali Support to revert sisters who do not have a traditional male guardian (father, brother, etc.) for their Nikah (Islamic marriage) in accordance with Islamic law. Their imam can serve as a compassionate and knowledgeable wali, representing the sister during the marriage process while ensuring her rights — such as agreement on mahr — are protected.
The process involves completing a confidential intake form, a private interview with the imam and care team, and a follow-up meeting to guide both parties. This service is complimentary, confidential, and includes coordinated support if needed.
