The Islamic Foundation of Greater St. Louis (IFGSTL) provides social services and charitable assistance to individuals and families in need. Its Social Services Committee distributes Zakat and Sadaqah funds on a case-by-case basis after reviewing an applicant’s financial and family circumstances. Assistance can include help with rent and utility bills, employment and job-search support, referrals to physicians, psychiatrists, and attorneys, support for domestic-violence victims, Eid assistance for needy families, food and meat distributions, immigrant citizenship assistance, and essential household items such as furniture, fans, and heaters. The foundation also supports English and Quran classes, summer camps, and community outreach meals. IFGSTL has served the St. Louis community since 1974 and operates two mosques, a funeral home, a school, a free health clinic, and Baitulmal.
