Islamic Will Services at the Birmingham Islamic Society (BIS) help community members prepare a Shariah-compliant Last Will and Testament that ensures their assets, debts, charitable bequests, and funeral wishes are handled according to Islamic principles and local laws. BIS provides an Islamic Will template for Alabama residents, which includes guidance on appointing executors and guardians, recording debts, requesting Islamic funeral arrangements, and distributing inheritance in accordance with the Qur’anic laws of Faraid (Islamic inheritance). The will also allows individuals to dedicate up to one-third of their estate to charity or non-heirs, while preserving the fixed inheritance rights of legal heirs as prescribed in Islam.
